I love this little bird. Cute Cute Cute! He/She is the resident begger of mealworms and incredibly friendly. Not sure if it is a pullet or roo any input would be greatly appreciated. Hatch day was April 25th.

KyBlue you were correct. He tried to crow for the first time this morning...So funny. Hopefully the eggs I have in the bator will produce a couple of girly friends for him. Thank you all again for your input.

I've heard Nankins make amazing mothers & are great for hatching gamebirds. Anyone have that experience?

I'm looking for a few to work with my quail eggs, any of y'all in the midwest with non-standard (freezerbound) hens who need new homes? I'm willing to pay for beauties, but I'd hate for a great set of genes to go untapped.

The children:

Out in the growing pen I used while I finished up getting the coop ready. When they sya these birds fly well they aren't kidding, those fences were more of a "suggested" territorial boundary after 4 days.

They aren't much fans of cameras.

Yes, I have an epidemic of buttless Nankins. I finally got caught up with there appetites and got them out of the cages so they would quit picking and then the roos all went horny so they are either riding the tails off the pullets or trying to grab a hold of each other to be "on deck"

Why are you pointing that *THING* at me?

I said no pictures today!

*le sigh* My one of my buttless roos...

Now they are IN the coop and have even MORE room and food. They just *DON'T* like tail feathers.....

I love how they they can wield that look of righteous indignation at will

Beautiful flock minus the featherless butts.

I just sold two of my babies for the first time. Cried.
My roo is molting so no feathers either.

if any one is interested in r/c or s/c nankins i am picking up 50 or 60 from a breeder that has decided to get out of birds for a while. I plan on keeping 20 of them for her and would like to find homes for the rest. They are quality birds that have shown well.
