Yesterday my order arrived from McMurray Hatchery with 18 chicks.
Today, my almost-dead incubator (a dog almost destroyed it and the temp is VERY difficult to keep steady) decided to toss me another four baby chicks while I was at work, with another 4 pipped right now, and 12 rocking and rolling!
I haven't had much luck with the incubator since the dog almost destroyed it. But this egg batch included several from a hen we lost and wanted to get another one like her, so I tried it anyway with very little hope for success.
Who would have thought that I would get an actual 100% hatch rate the day after my order of 18 came in? Lol!
