Necks breaking!!

i agree, i think they were 2 days so now should be getting close to 2 weeks? just like with standard chickens they get their wing feathers week 1, tail feathers week 2 and so on yours may be a bit delayed on tail feathers due to the illness but their wing feathers look to be coming in nicely!

Kinda like this...it reduces the scatter big time. Just a small amount though. You don't want it to mold sitting in there for days.

Look around for a deeper jar lid too...something with a higher side instead of a flat plate.
Wish I would of had that tip when mine were babies! They scattered and wasted so much! I love this website, you learn so many helpful tips!

Yes, and I haven't heard a sneeze yet :fl. They're peeping a lot though, not sure what that's about
Something I noticed about my first time babies, was when I would dim the lights in the room where I kept their brooder- as soon as the lights dimmed, cheeping like something was wrong for around 10 min, could be heard all over the house and then total silence, all nestled under my heat plate. Google said that they do a roosting call, and it means " we will sleep here" They did it everynight like clockwork and I quit worrying

i’m trying to decide the best time to move mine to the wire playpen. i just know that my standard chicks could still squeeze through that wire at 2-3 weeks so i’m trying to figure out the best way to keep these little guys from doing that.
I used a dog crate my sister had. I set it on a large trash bag and brought that up around and taped it and the wrapped plastic wrap around to keep them in, because yes, they went thru the bars with no problems.

Tomatohead stands on the top of the cave and peeps until I pick him up :/ At least he's feeling better
I just noticed your cave. What type of heating pad are you using - what is that piece that has all the holes in it?
I can be one of those paranoid people at times, but those holes look perfect for little toes and feet to get hung up in. Can you cover the cave with an old towel?

The heating pad is a reptile pad, and I put it on the inside because it doesn't get very hot, about 90 tops. Do you think an old washcloth would work? And would it be ok to tape it down so it won't move? The hole thing is just an old strainer I had that I bent into shape to attatch the pad to

Yes an old washcloth would work, watch for strings. Just about anything to cover the holes:)

Again, no signs of seeming ill before this, other than the sneezing. Maybe raising chickens just isn't my thing
