Necropsy results back—no answers...perhaps salt toxicity?

Try switching feed, from Purina to Nutrena.

Does nutrena make chick starter grower? I’m lucky if our po dunk TSC even has Purina half the time! I’ve never seen Nutrena chick starter there so it may be something I have to order. The only Nutrena they keep on shelves is feather fixer.

Talked to state vet, she thinks it’s bacterial. If anyone else dies I’m sending them off again.
I think that would be a good idea. I have no clue - if the lab is confused, then...

You did mention that you saw improvement with Poly Vi Sol?
Have you tried any other vitamins - poultry cell or even given extra B's like 1/4 tablet of B-Complex daily (each) to see if that makes a difference.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this:hugs

Thank you ☺️
The way we do it is through our vet’s office. We cull and then take them immediately, or refrigerate if it’s going to be a day or so. They say not to freeze. They do all of the packing to send off to the state. The state vet told me when it’s in question they have to send them off for further testing by a board certified pathologist to look for microscopic lesions, so I’m not sure where they went after that. VA started charging $45 in April but it used to be free. I’m sure some states are still free. I don’t know the exact procedure for packing a deceased bird so I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful. Do you have a livestock vet in your area?
thank you!
