And, second, I am amazed at how little the OP knew about chickens and still went and got a full grown, adult chicken to live in her Bronx apartment. The reality about the whole thing is Ethel is a meat bird. He bought her from an organic farm to EAT her, and they fell in love with her. She's so fat, she is having trouble running away from all my boys who want to do the deed, so I have to keep her separated. I really don't know the life expectancy of meaties. Should I put her on a diet and exercise program? She really is a sweet girl....
