Well, if they all hatch, then they'll pay for the bator!

ChickieMama you give me hope. I set a mix of my own including 6 eggs of the only blue egg layer I have laying right now. Some of hers are more than 2 weeks old. Also set maransxArcauna for olive eggs and a few RIRXArcauna just for the halibut

I need SOMETHING to candle because heaven only knows if I will be able to see in the blue or marans eggs! Also have a splash Orp secondary roo with the girls so it should make for an interesting mix if/when they hatch. I suppose I should have counted how many went in, but I know it's less than 30.
Marans are now with their own marans roo, so that means another setting when this batch is done. more chickies more chickies!

good luck! Thats alot of chickies!

Thats just one hatch...I just finished a hatch of about 30 chicks, and another going the week before these that I set...about 3 dzn...Lots of chicks!! Anyone want a few?? LOL

I am prepping my bator now to set 41 tomorrow! Was not going to hatch any this time of year since I am expecting to hatch my own human baby by the end of March but got a phone call for 40 today. So, I get to satisfy my hatching need and not have to care for the fuzzy butts while keeping a baby too!!

They will be mutts with some full blooded RIRs but my sister does not care.

Roos are: RIR and Americana

Hens are:
RIRs
EEs
turkens
australorps
barred rocks
and mutts from last year.

guess I should actually post. Guess I am getting Tired.

I just put in tonight at 9pm 50 eggs in my LG Bator, this is my 2 hatch to do, but the first one for this season. I got them from a friend of mine. they are mixed breeds but the Ameracauna's and have some pure RIR's and Barred Rocks

RIRxWelsummer
Barred Rockx Welsummer
barred rock
and 2 unknown eggs.
and EE's

so thinking March 27th actually really going to go for the 28th sense I put them in so late.
looking forward to hatching along with the rest of you

Yesterday AM (2/26!) I set 6 Asil eggs, shipped from PA. They are a mix of colors and the brood roo is a Spangled so we will see what is what. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will hatch. Im wanting pullets but with my luck, onlyone will hatch and it will be a boy. Im also keeping my fingers crossed that one or more can be showable. But Im getting ahead of my self! They need to hatch first!!
