Need a little help

Newbie here and have a possible problem. My chicks are 6 1/2 weeks old and I have moved them from the brooder 2 days ago to the coop. I have 15 chicks 5 RIR, 5BR and 5 BO. I made a nice big roost for them but for some reason they will not use it to roost. During the day they will experiment with it but at night they stay on the floor. My pole measurements from first pole to floor is 12", middle pole is 19" and top is 24" from floor. I am still working on the coop and will eventually make my roost higher but at this time the roost is the only hard ware to climb on.

I wouldn't be too alarmed my chickens did the same thing for a few weeks

They will. They are still small and need to figure out how to snuggle up there. Probably at about 8 weeks they will do it on their own, but if you want to help them out you can pop them on the bar at sundown. Usually you only have to do this once.
