I went out and thirty were all stil under her,

Whoa! Thirty? And they all fit?

I just edited that! The word thirty was supposed to be the word THEY!!
She has nine chicks !

Gotcha - LOL! I saw that you had put 9 under her but suddenly there were 30 under and I thought maybe she was also sitting on eggs and those hatched as well or something.
