yes you can wrap the wing incorrectly and too tight causing more harm than good.
Any tips on how tight is too tight and what is wrong/right?

Works for me, course having you shipped through the mail could get quite expensive.ha ha, wouldnt that be something a traveling helper.
Maybe you can feel her skin to make sure it's not cold which would indicate loss of circulation. Hope it works keep us posted.I wrapped it multiple times before I finally found a way that would stay. She's had it on now for about 12 hours.
Essentially, what I did is wrap it around the front of the wing so it wouldn't slide backwards. Then, I folded the wing like it should be and wrapped the vet wrap around it. I had to wrap it somewhat tightly so that it wouldn't fall off, though I don't think I got it too tight. I'm just worried about having wrapped it incorrectly.
I'm no expert but it looks like the feather isn't laying right.
I hope it turns out good. Sounds like most of the time it works. So, I was afraid that I had wrapped it wrong so I re-wrapped it today. It is laying a lot better now. I guess it's wait-and-see now.
I've never seen my goose do it but my Muscovies have if I pick them up sometimes. I always thought nerves brought it on. Happy to hear Lucy recovered so quickly great work. Well today I got a 4 month old goose and I can now say she threw up, I had to catch her to put her up and when I picked her up she threw up, clearly stress related.Apparently, I didn't get Lucy's wing wrapped well enough. My husband and I were out working on the duck run yesterday evening, and I noticed that Lucy was no longer wearing the wrap on her wing. I found the wrap where she'd been only a few minutes before, so I'm guessing she'd had it on for almost 24 hours before it fell off. I didn't re-wrap it immediately because I was busy helping my husband on the run. Long story short, I ended up not wrapping it at all last night. The good news is that the wing is laying properly still this morning, even without the wrap and is NOT laying outward any more (a.k.a. no more angel wing). In total, Lucy had a wrap on for maybe about 36 hours, and I don't know that I'm going to rewrap it unless I see her wing starting to lay incorrectly again.
On another note, is it normal for geese to spit/vomit? I separate Lucy from the flock for ~30 minutes each evening and spend some time with her, just her and me. I've noticed multiple times that she seems to either spit or vomit liquid-y stuff. Most of the time, it's not long after she's had a large drink and/or eaten. Is this normal?
