If it's tablet then just crush it up real good I use an electric coffee grinder for things like that. If capsules just open and sprinkle on top. The only place i found Brewers yeast was the natural food store, or on line.

I have named him/her Lucy, and until I find out otherwise, I'm going to assume he/she is a girl.
She is doing okay. I actually have her on my lap right now.
She is is still wobbly. When I go into town later today, I plan on getting some Brewer's yeast from wal-mart. I hope it helps. I had her on my lap for about half an hour today, and I didn't notice any drainage from her nose.
I took her and the duckling outside yesterday, and they stuck pretty closely to me. They seemed to enjoy themselves, though. It's kinda windy to take them out today.
She still seems to have runny poo that runs down her underside to her belly. However, it's not sticking to just her vent any more, which is definitely a good thing, and she doesn't have as much stuck to her as she used to.
Overall, I guess I'd say that she's doing well, but still has some improvements to make. The duckling (whom I've named Lucky) is larger and older than Lucy and doesn't seem to mind knocking her over or pushing her out of the way. I've wondered if I should separate them 'till Lucy becomes steadier, but I only have one heat lamp, so I don't think I could make it work.
Thanks for the update, glad to hear Lucy is making improvements. yes they both need the Brewers yeast. I bet they stayed close to you ,you are their mommie now. if you only have the one heat lamp then I'd keep them together and even though Lucky may knock her around she would really miss him and vise versa. Goslings and ducklings have wetter poop than chickens so maybe what your seeing isn't anything to be concerned about, is she eating good? Exercise will help her gain strength but the Brewers yeast if very important for their legs to be as strong as they need to be. please keep giving updates,First of all, thank you for asking! Maybe it's my imagination, but I think Lucy has been standing up more since I started giving them Brewer's Yeast. She'd previously been laying down whenever possible (like while getting a drink). As of yesterday (day #1 on Brewer's Yeast), she was still wobbly, but I think she's improving. Only time will tell for sure, but I'm hopeful!

Good news. If the Brewer's Yeast is working you will really start to see dramatic improvements in another couple of days. I am sure it will work and if nothing else eliminate some of her symptoms so you can just concentrate on what is still going on.
Oh, if her stool is still loose and runny you may want to watch for dehydration. When I get an animal with the runs, we call is scours for my goats, I use a Pedialyte mixture (about half pedialyte half water) instead of plain water.
I know with other livestock, their are certain things you can use to firm up the poo, but didn't know what to use for geese. So, I did some digging and found the following article taken from Majestic Waterfowl's website (found here: http://www.majesticwaterfowl.org/mmissue77.htm ) ...hope it helps.
If your duck or goose is experiencing diarrhea it can be indicative of a many number of things. A look at all of your pet’s overall health and symptoms will be necessary in order to determine the correct course of action. Once your vet determines the root cause of the symptoms, a proper treatment regimen can begin.
Diarrhea is often the body’s way of removing toxins from the system, so depending on its severity, your vet may or may not want to interfere with this function—especially in the short term. They may want to lessen the symptom more than alleviate it, depending on the cause.
Adding apple pectin to your pet’s diet is a safe and often effective way to help tighten up your duck or goose’s poop, and there are a few alternatives to accomplishing this.
1) Syringe feed 1-2 tablespoons of organic apple baby food to your duck or goose each day until symptoms improve.
2) Add organic apple cider vinegar to their water (15 mls per gallon)but it can ferment, so change their water frequently! It may also soothe irritated intestinal lining.
3) Kaolin Pectin Suspension (found at farm supply stores) can be administered 2-4 times a day, in doses of 1ml for each pound your bird weighs PROVIDED that your duck or goose is drinking normally.
4) Apple Pectin tablets (250 mgs) can be given to your goose once daily or every 12 hours in more serious cases. Ducks can be given 100 mgs once daily or every 12 hours in more serious cases.
As with all medications, consult with your vet before beginning any of these treatments. Side effects for each of these products include constipation, so only use them under the direct guidance of your veterinarian. Kaolin Pectin Suspension may cause stomach cramping. If you see a decline in your pet’s appetite, discontinue immediately and consult your vet.
Remember, diarrhea can lead to dehydration. Monitor your bird’s drinking habits carefully to ensure normal behavior. If your pet is spending too much time (or all of their time) at the water bucket, bring them to your vet immediately.

Ok, so Lucy has taken a turn for the worse. Their brooder is in the house, and I woke up this morning to her SCREAMING! She was on her back and couldn't get up. She was also wet because she'd obviously been rolling in some water sitting on the ground (I have a cookie sheet underneath their water to keep it from soaking the cardboard box I"m using as a brooder). On the Brewer's yeast, I had been giving them 4 tabs on each cup of food. 4 tabs is less than the 1 tablespoon I'd seen recommended everywhere, so I went ahead and put 1 TBSP on their food when I gave them more (they were out when I went to check on them).
Is there anything else I can do for her? I stopped giving her the Vi-Tal and instead have been putting some Brewer's Yeast in her water. I started again with the VI-Tal this morning as I'm hoping for ANYTHING to work. I'm really worried about her. When she is up, she still (tries to) run all over the place.

How is Lucy doing today? I haven't had internet since Thurs afternoon and sorry to hear she had some problems, I would not stop the vitamins until you you see marked improvement. Put ViTal in her water and Brewers yeast on her feed. If it's tablet crush it up and sprinkle it on top. Hope she is better today.

As far as I can tell, she's still falling far enough to end up on her back. I took her outside yesterday and saw her do it a couple times outside. However, she's not managed to get herself quite as dirty today. Probably because they haven't made as much of a mess in their brooder box today.
I have been seriously considering getting some Niacin pills to give to them, in addition to the Brewer's Yeast. The pills I would get are from Wal-Mart and are 500mg pills. I was thinking I'd break the pill open and add it to their water. That way, I know she'd be getting enough Niacin, even if they spill half of their water. With the Brewer's Yeast having only .55mg (yes, that is just more than half a milligram) per pill, I am not sure she's getting as much as she needs. Do you think adding Niacin is a bad idea? a good idea? I read that ducks need more than 10mg per day, and I'm guessing that a goose needs more than that. What do you think?
