Need advice on gosling

So happy to hear Lucy is doing so much better. Great news!! now keep up with all you are doing till you see full recovery. and as far as making them an area outside where they can have some fun, just make it as safe and secure as you possibly can, There was a poster last week that thought her area for her goslings was secure and left them just for a few minutes, when she came back to check on them they had gotten out and one had been killed, So it is better to be safe than sorry. I know my lil duckling was an escape artist last year.Keep us updated on her progress. I bet your parents will miss them.

I've got my Littles outside right now. I've got a big wire dog kennel that's made for an XL dog. My DH's 100 pound lab fits in it. I put the kennel right beside the pen where my adult birds are. Last evening, I put Lucy and Lucky in the same pen as my adult birds and stayed close to watch. Lucky would've blended into the flock just fine had Lucy not been scared to death of the adult birds. I'm hoping that having her in a separate pen close to the adult birds will help her get used to them.

I took the plastic bottom out of the kennel so that Lucy and Lucky could get to the grass/weeds underneath it. I was a little worried about doing it this way because it means that Lucy would have all kinds of thick wires to trip over. However, she seems to be doing well anyway. She seems to be doing better about being able to step OVER things, rather than tripping over everything in her path.

hi there this is normal for little ducks or geese. you can take them outside and leave them run it will strenghen there legs over time. as far as the shaking part thats a sign that they are cold. if you have a heat lamp use that but make sure it doe not get to hot. it should be between 90-95 degrees and for every week after that minus 5 degrees. hope this was helpful

I am amazed at how well Lucy is doing. All that TLC is really paying off.

Lucy and Lucky spent the day outside yesterday. I only saw Lucy on her back/side once, and she was able to get up on her own. I put them out again this morning. I went to check on them and make sure they had water about an hour after I put them out. I opened the door to give Lucy some dandelion greens, and she jumped over the lip of the door and got out of the wire dog kennel all by herself! Then, she turned around and jumped right back in. She is definitely improving every day. I, too, am amazed at her progress and how FAST she is growing now!

As requested, here are more pictures!

Notice how much she's grown, when compared to Lucky?!?
EDIT: There are older pictures of the two of them in post #45 on page 5 of this thread.

And here she is stepping over the door frame of the kennel. She still acts like she has to think about it, but she's done it about a dozen times today (almost every time I've gone out to check on them today).

I went back and looked at the first pics, adorable! My two are 5 weeks old now but I remember how they stumbled over everything and didn't quite look where they were going! It was comical but worrisome at the same time!
She is a sweetheart, wishing you continued success! Thanks for posting more pics.
