That's because the picture is showing up for me on the chart, isn't showing up for you?

Oops, I guess my brain wasn't functioning earlier - so the list is the ones you still need? I think I assumed it was the ones you had because you still have Leghorn on the list - how can that be? I can get you that one too if you like, may be a couple days before I can get a pic taken.

Yes it is the ones I need, the leghorn is on the list because the picture isn't showing up for me, most likely meaning the person who donated it deleted it from their photos. And if you get a photo for a leghorn I would be very thankful.

Love the egg color chart. Thank you for working on this. I'll definately be checking back to compare colors when more of my girls start laying.

I found it interesting that the Japanese Bantam eggs look almost the shape of parachute and not an oval. Wonder which end of the egg comes out first?

Thanks, and with egg shape it might be that it was just a weird egg but I don't know.

I agree up to a point, yes they will be different shades but it gives you the idea of what they look like. The only way to do what your saying is to have people ship me eggs of every breed I don't have and take them my self in a controlled environment. Which I might end up doing with the breeds I have. But this chart has colors listed as well so it will help people.
Second problem being the eggs wont be taken from the exact same distance so there would be no reference point for size.

This chart is not about size it's about color, that might change later but for the moment that's all that madders for the chart.

Love your egg page Cat-Critters - it's not meaningless to me.

Thanks

How about taking a photo with a quarter next to the egg or something easily identifiable for reference?

One Question

For the Plymouth Rocks photo there are several eggs of different shades. Are these all Plymouth Rock eggs? If so it is a nice demonstration of the variation just in one breed.
