Need Hatching Buddy Set 04/29 due 05/20

nope, didn't post it, but I suppose I should. Right now she's sitting on the empty shell, plus the 3 unhatched eggs.

Congrats on your hatch!! It sounds like everything is going very well. How is the little chick that tried to come out feet first?

Happy Feet is doing well. I did end up having to help it, but we worked together and now it is resting peacefully, at least when I left it was

Nope, but since I am new to all this it would have to be REAL obvious

Well Hubby just called to tell me that the only lav orph did not make it. It had "pipped" at the bottom of its shell and this morning it looked like it was not breathing real well.

I'm so sorry it didn't make it.

I'm still waiting on the rest of mine to do something. no pips or anything. Hoping they're ok and just moving slow. This baby is going to be lonely if he's the only one! I might have to go get him some buddies...(chicken math anyone?)

so my final count is one delaware/australorp cross. There is one more egg under the broody that I have hopes for, but it's not looking good. I opened up two of the quitters and it looked to me like they quit right before day 18, there was a large yolk with the baby in both eggs I opened. They had white feathers too... I think they were my delaware chicks I was hoping so much for.

Disappointed, but I got what I had hoped for earlier... that just one baby hatch. Anyway, I still count this as a successful hatch because it was my first, and also the broody's first, and I know for sure she's happy with her baby. Tomorrow I will move her and her baby inside to the brooder and away from the other hens so the little one will be safe. I do have my incubator full and they're due the second week of June, on the 8th I think.

Well sorry you only had one but nice to know they are happy. I think my hatch is over 3 barnies and 3 buff orphs. Still have 11 barnies due next week. Hope the ones in your bator make it!
