Need Help Addressing My Buff Orpington's Black Comb

Could it be a fungus? I have no idea, but one of my hens got one tiny black spot on her comb this last summer. It hasn't changed at all I've been keeping an eye on it.

Could very well be. If the OP reports that Blu-kote has cured this condition, then it's further indication of it being a fungal infection since Blu-kote is a fungicide as one of its curative properties.

Over the past few months my Buff Orphington Rooster (10 months old) has had short stints of his comb tips turning black. It started happening when he was about 4 months old when daily temps were 80-90 and nights were in the 70's. This is my first time having chickens, and if this only just now started, I would assume frostbite, but since it was happening even in the summer, that leads me to believe differently. With that being said, I don't know what it is and I'm hoping that someone can help me figure out what it is and what I can do to help him.

Side note: Unlike my hens, he is extremely mean and wont let us get anywhere near him. He's been this way since about 2 weeks old. You can hold the hens all day but if you get within 3 feet of him, he'll run at you and kangaroo kick you and bite you until you back away. So hopefully someone has a remedy that will not require touching him

Eggcessive-- Thanks for asking. His comb and wattle and still black. Since nothing else was working, I went ahead and sprayed some Blu-Kote on there. It hasn't helped, which I didn't expect it to, since I personally don't think it's frostbite. Ive noticed that he hasnt been drinking anything at all. He's eating less than normal, but what's really concerning me is that I have yet to see him drink in the last week. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get some fluids in him? My hens are doing completely fine and are happy and healthy as normal. It's just poor Jack that's suffering.

Try some soft chopped egg, and I usually can get them to get more fluids by adding water to a small bowl of chick feed. A spoonful of plain yogurt for probiotics may help. Perhaps putting him in a dog crate inside the coop so that he can see the others, and place his food and water in there.

My Buff Orpington rooster has the same thing on his comb and wattles.
it started in fall before it got cold out so I am curious about this older post-
What is the solution?
We have a good enclosed coop with options to heat - I have not used heat though since it has been a mild winter.
The place I got the rooster from said all of his roosters get that and it falls off and they are fine don’t worry- but I am not sure about that. I did try vasoline in the beginning and it just got dirty. What is this about blue kote ?or what do I do?
