Need Help ! Baby chick having trouble hatching.

The hole has been there since about 10 am yesterday morning. Were you able to see the picture after all? I wish I could attach the picture, but I'm not allowed yet. I can see it's little head, beak, and part of the chest. I'm afraid to pull off any more, do you think I should, or just leave it alone for a while?

If it's been that long, he is probably getting tired. I would start to peel back the shell around the opening very gently.
I upload pics by first uploading them to my profile, then selecting the little picture symbol in the box you type in to make them load on my post. :)

Make sure to keep the outer membrane moistened when peeling off the shell. There is an outer and inner membrane. The outer membrane is attached to the shell, the inner membrane surrounds the chick.

Ok, here is what I've got. Should I pull back any more shell??
It looks like all the vessels have absorbed, I don't see any blood from the picture. I would continue to peel around the egg, like they do when they are zipping. Leave the inner membrane attached I case he hasn't absorbed all the yolk sac, so he won't move too much and still will have the time he needs to absorb it. If you can see his abdomen, can you tell if the yolk sac is absorbed?

Ok, let me go see what I can do, will get back to you as quick as I can. Thank you so much!

I pulled back some shell from the membrane, but saw a little red, so I stopped. Do I leave it like that for a while? I wish this had happened when I was more experienced with baby chicks. I'm really grateful for all your help, let me know how to proceed. Chick looks a little more active and is peeping a little louder.

Do the veins on the inner membrane look like tiny little hairs, or are they fat? From the pic it appears that they are tiny. Can you see his abdomen to tell if the yolk sac is absorbed? If so then you can proceed with removing more of the shell.

No, they are very thin. He's squirming now, and he's sort of flapping one wing. Will pull back a little more to see if I can see anything.

Ok, I pulled back a little more shell, and he pushed his way out. This is what it looks like at this point. He's laying there, breathing, do I remove the damp towel and let him dry, or leave it? Thanks.
