So, heading out to the coop yesterday, I came across a small brown egg on the lawn. At first I thought it was a fart egg laid by one of the girls in an odd spot, but when I got to the nest box, there were 4 eggs, one for each of our four girls, and I started wondering where the other egg might have come from. There's a nest high in a tree nearby, but it seemed odd that the egg would have survived such a fall intact.

Has anyone ever gotten both a fart and normal sized egg from their chickens in one day? I guess there's a chance it could have been laid the afternoon before as it was cool to the touch, but I think it might have frozen outside overnight. We haven't cracked it open yet.
