I'd skip the mealworms and grapes and provide some real butter and/or curd cheese instead. They’re fed layer feed, black sunflower seeds, mealworms, grapes, blueberries, and scratch.

I spend loads of time with them. They’re my first chickens and I adore them. I’m retired so I spend hours with them. They’re fed layer feed, black sunflower seeds, mealworms, grapes, blueberries, and scratch.
Okey doke I’ll give it a try and report back. Thanks!I'd skip the mealworms and grapes and provide some real butter and/or curd cheese instead.
No just six hensDo you have a rooster/cockerel with them?
So there must be one hen pecking the others causing the scabs and feather loss.No just six hens
Ok so I think I figured it out and it is one of them picking feathers. Loretta my Issa brown is a brat! I’d never seen her do it until early this morning. I watch these chickens all day, except in the early morning. I do all my chickens chores and go back in. Today I stayed out until they stopped making a fuss to leave the run and free range and there it was! Loretta who I might add is notorious for coming up and pecking at my jeans. She’ll even run off the cat. No one is bleeding or completely bald, everyone is eating and laying everyday so I’m not going to completely freak out…yet. My barred rock Tanya Harding has a dry patch just north and to the side of her tail feathers. She’s laying, eating, and drinking. She’s top of the pecking order and no one messes with her ever. I have six hens, no roos and I’ve sat out here hanging out and observing them so I know she’s not being pecked. I sure would appreciate it if anyone knew what the heck is up. Thank you so much!
