I'm so sorry for your lose. I hope that egg hatches

Thanks everyone for the condolences.
DD is really broken up about Sweetie, it was such a shock that she seemed ok and eating an apple, then 30 minutes later she was gone. DD went to get Sweetie's mate Lion and she was cuddling him for a while. I hope Lion won't be too depressed, he is a crossbeak and Sweetie was the one who would clean the dribbled food off his neck and preen him.
What makes it worse for DD is I will have to sell some of our chickens to help pay the vet bill.

I have 3 Silkie and 3 Silkie/Frizzled Cochin cross eggs due to hatch Monday maybe that will cheer her up.

I'm so sorry... I have a lump in my throat... it is so unfair. Poor little baby... I hope her egg hatches and something good can come from so much pain.
