so I need help selecting my last chick.

Currently i have the following:
Orpington
Austrolorp
Amerecauna
Wyndotte
Brahma

This last I am considering are the following:
Welsummer
Spec Sussex
EE
Barnevelder

I was leaning towards the welsummer, but I am worried about this noise issues i have read. I cannot free range so that will be in a large covered run and coop.

It's hard to say. My advice is to get what you want. Most birds will react to how they are treated and handled. Some like to be carried around and some don't want to be touched. Each bird will have it's own distinct personality in most of the breeds, but there are always exceptions.

I would go with the EE then. They are great for eggs and are generally very friendly towards humans. EE's also don't make too much noise except for the egg song. They also handle heat and winter very well.

I second the EE. They're generally really pleasant birds to have around and in my experience egg production has been fabulous. I always tell myself I don't need more but I always end up slipping one in every order or hatch lol

I've Got Welsummer pullets and a rooster. Rooster is the friendliest and great boss. The pullets are skidish and take a while to warm up to humans. Still don't like being held but they are all different
