ok here is the problem: I have a 11-12 wk old SLW that has been sick since last saturday. She acts as if she needs to throw up, like a jerking head movement, but nothing comes out. So starting on Sat. when she started this I have been giving her ACV and just regular chick starter. Sunday I was reading and thought maybe it was something to do with her crop, which is quite large, so I held her upside down and massaged her crop, she threw up alot of mucous looking stuff and some feed. Since then she acts somewhat better, not as much of the jerky movements, but some. She hasn't gotten any worse. I also read alot and was worried about Mereks... but wouldn't she have gotten worse by now? She is in with one other hen and sepearated by wooden dividers from another hatch of chicks--- all the other chicks show no signs of anything.
Any ideas? Could it still be mereks?

They will make those jerky head/neck movements when they are trying to grind up something in the croup. If she has something stuck, or an impacted croup, she may be trying to pass it.

so do you think I should do the massage thing again? I only done it once b/c I didn't want to do more harm than good.
