Need Help... They're Trying To Take My Birds...

I have the same problem, I have 1 peacock and he calls to the wild ones around here when ever they make noise. I think the sound is kinda cool but my neighbors have called the cops on all my birds forcing me to pen them up or get rid of them. But I am sick of my neighbors and I am not getting rid of my peacock he is just to pretty! A cop showed up this morning and pounded on the door but I dont know what he wanted.

We had some people that had peacocks 3 blocks away years ago. If yours make anything like the racket those birds did, I am sorry to say this, but I understand the complaint.​

AMEN GLANIE... SECOND ONLY TO GUINEAS AROUND HERE. BUT TO EACH HIS OWN. AS OF YET I HAVE NOT HEARD A QUAIL SPECES THAT CAN BE EVEN REMOTELY ON 1'S MOST DRUNKEN MOMENT BE CONSIDERED ANYWHERE NEAR NOISY THO... noticed that one too when i first joined, i asked same question.
when someone is not quoting and typing in all caps, text gets converted into caps first letter and lowercase for every word.
pretty neat software used in this forum to avoid 'shouting'.

sorry i was outta town... pretty much to sum it up i am no longer worried, i need no permits or anything, i must keep my pens 50 feet from any building which is done, and i must have complaints from more than one immidiate niehbor who resides at the building ad i only have one resident neihbor so let them talk, mayor comes in my yard again to check my birds and he will also be checking my barrel end {after i put up no trespassing signs) and as for the gas station they should get prepared because some body just hatched out a whole sh*t load more birds, and i think they will be residing on the front porch as well.

and as for the uppercase letter thing i think i had caps lock on but idk... definatley not my phone i am technology illiterate

just watch out, if anything else alot of states are making it illegal to keep standard bobwhites, as they are supposedly becoming scarce. pheasants and doves to in some places, as for some reason its ok to blow them away with high powered rifles, but not keep as pets.. also conflicting city, county and state codes, that still have most health codes saying all foul are illegal (not sure if pigeons/doves included), which can be over ridden probably, but still could be a hassle. plus your neighbors could just start shooting, throwing fire works at, and/or poisoning your birds. i hid mine inside, just to try to avoid the trouble, and all this happened to me, after i went all out to, and asked if anyone had issues with my birds, and they were all saying how they loved having them around (im trying to scout out a friendlier place to live).. really hate, disgusted, and confused by some people now. hope you have alot better luck

I checked here in IL about raising quail and releasing them as their numbers have fallen so hard, what a headache. Just to release birds, you have to have a minimum of 200 acres with 50% of that set aside as a preserve. Tack on the permit fees and all the red tape.... Sorry for straying off the original direction of the post.

no problem shooting them if not just to watch them explode into feathers and not use whatever left (i say if you cant kill it with an arrow, rock, or throwing knife etc, you cannot call yourself an actual hunter, as guns are easy to use), as some responsible hunters are the main reason we actually have most animals around still from old days before most conservation was thought of, as they were the first and only conservationists of their time, and oddly only ones who noticed or cared. if you set aside land to not touch for farm ag, you can get a grant or kick back to turn into wildlife habitat, but need to manage for them, and get money for that each year. sounds like the startup for all that is bad in some places, as in WI i just knew people who went through DNR or similar assoc. thanks for trying though, digger duck. i was just told i could raise and release anywere to help raise numbers, by most agencies and itd be a service, but they dont seem to notice or maybe cared that these werent bobwhite, and probably wouldnt do well wild (i have corternix), but a neighbor had some escape, and he sees them supposedly in big numbers at certain times at dawn feeding and calling with babies always, were i had some get away when a flood washed them out of pen, and do hear and see on or two every now and then. considering just releasing rest to see if theyd go wild, or just end up dead, as they are way to freindly to me (they continually follow me around and fly right up on me when i go near them)..
