**Need Help Understanding the Standard!!

Can you post some pictures of the chicks legs or the chickens you have in question.

Calm down Kim, the reason for paintings in The Standard and not pictures is that they are describing the ideal, perfect bird and our task is to get as close as we can to that ideal bird. A breeder once told me that to look at my birds in black and white because body type counts for so much more than color, then if they pass that test go on to the general color and then down to the details.

Hoping not to confuse more but the Storeys Poultry Breed book says shanks and toes are light willow with yellow on bottom of feet...this is for mottled javas

I got my information from the APA Standard of Perfection. It's the book almost all judges go by.

Well the Standard is by the APA and in an APA show that is what the birds are judged by. And since many 4-H shows are judged by APA judges then they use the SOP then too.

Toes--Same as shanks, exept under parts, which
Must be yellow; Bottoms of feet, yellow.

I guess I don't understand you confusion? The above is from the Standard description which you posted and it seems pretty specific to me.
