Need help with chick found outside

Yeah, that's no chicken or turkey chick. My guess is some sort of game fowl. Do the best you can to keep it warm with food and water. Hard boiled egg may help too as it is very nutritious. Doubt it is over a week old since wing feathers are only starting up. Best of luck.

How is that chick today?
It is a bit of a conundrum because even though the first thing it needs is warmth (golden rul for rehab is:First warm THEN rehydrate THEN feed) I say conundrum because the light may stress it to such an extent as to prevent it getting better (it is used to a lot of dark under momma).

Well, 'wilds' and I disagree on this one. I say its a turkey poult. I don't see the snood either, but it looks just like our baby poults when they were little. How is the baby doing today?

well...it lived! It's in there chirping. About 3 people have said it's a turkey. We're looking for wildlife rescue places today. Although, after going to the audobon this spring to see that a perfectly good owl was kept for show and tell (money), I am wary of any of these "rehabbers". I guess, I'll get some game food like ChinaChicks suggested and take it from there...

any wildlife rehabbers on here have suggestions? It has not eaten since last night (that we know of) and I dunno what to do

or anyone that raises turkeys? Getting a little concerned that i hasn't eaten

you could Push some shinny marbles into the food and add some into the water it may help it to peck at things if isnt to scarred..

If it is indeed a wild turkey that was hatched by its mother it may never come around as it already imprinted on her..Which means you will more than likely have a starve out...
Thats pretty comon with wild game birds.

You could try to force feed it with a real light thin mash made from the chick starter and water. Use a syringe(needle removed) to feed it, but be careful it doesnt choke on it.

Good luck and i hope it comes around what ever it may be
