They are for letting air in and out of the incubator. Like when chicks are hatching they need air so you would take those off. Or when the humidity gets too high you would take them off. Hope this helps .Do you see those little red things on top of the incubator? I have one of these incubators and those are little things that cover up holes. Should I take one off? What are they for? Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you!!!!They are for letting air in and out of the incubator. Like when chicks are hatching they need air so you would take those off. Or when the humidity gets too high you would take them off. Hope this helps .
Thank you! You are a lifesaver! No, most of the time mine is plugged in to. They don't really have to be taken out until the chick's pip. Before that, it doesn't really matter if they are in or out.
Absolutely you need to take them out.Do you see those little red things on top of the incubator? I have one of these incubators and those are little things that cover up holes. Should I take one off? What are they for? Any help will be appreciated.
The above is not correct. The vent plugs need to be taken out.Thank you! You are a lifesaver!
I didn't know this. Everything I have read has said to leave them in until day 18. I did this on my last hatch and all developed and 2/3 hatched.Eggs will be ok. But like Kiki said throw them out. Whenever your hatching a living egg you must provide air to the egg for proper cell development.
