I have a very lethargic hen

she’s normally very active perky and eats like a pig but she’s slow seems tentative to walk. Not interested in food.

face is nice and red. They’ve been wormed three weeks ago but I’m now doing again just to make sure that’s now the problem.

she has a slightly messy bum which is unlike her. She just seems very down in the dumps sat there hunched up falling asleep.

not had a feel of the crop or bum yet. I picked her up two days ago to treat for scaly leg as I noticed her feet looked sore and we’d had a bit of rain previously. She’s a Cochin so very fluffy feet that I like to keep an eye on.

I’m thinking possibly egg bound? I did find an egg in the house the other day covered in yolk and I’ve been finding a couple in random places. One in the run and one on hen house floor.
Ideas would be great!!

With what and how exactly did you treat for worms?

What all and how exactly are you feeding?

This is what I do when I have a bird that is acting off...
I isolate bird in a wire cage within the coop for a day or two....so I can closely monitor:
-their intake of food and water,
-crop function(checking at night and in morning before providing more feed),
-and their poops.
Feel their abdomen, from below vent to between legs, for squishy or hard swelling. Check for external parasites or any other abnormalities.

Best to put crate right in coop or run so bird is still 'with' the flock.
I like to use a fold-able wire dog crate (24"L x 18"W x 21"H) with smaller mesh(1x2) on bottom of crate under tray.
Then you can put tray underneath crate to better observe droppings without it being stepped in. If smaller mesh is carefully installed, tray can still be used inside crate.

I don't know what temps are in the UK right now, but heat might be an issue too...
