I successfully hatched 6 ducklings. However I noticed that one of the little ducklings have a ring around his eyes and it's unfortunately spreading to the rest of the group. I ground up dried eggshells at first and were putting it into their food and has stopped after doing some research but it still spread to the rest of the group. I introduced some apple cider vinegar to their water, what should i do?? What may be causing this?? I sanitize and clean their bowls and cage everyday.

wow thats bad. Are you using tiny amounts kf vinagar and making sure to get every bit of soap and sanitizer out of their enviroment?

Looks like its due to the water it seams where theyd dip their bills and face.And add better pictures if you can!

Rinse everything twice and give plain water. If you want to add anything add Prime multivitims from petsmart or b complex vitamins from the pharmacy

yeh, that looks a bit like a chemical discoloration. The picture is dark so it’s hard to tell if that’s an open burn or not. I second Jpat. If it is a chemical burn, they need pure, clean water. If it’s just a discoloration, the vinegar my be to blame, but if it’s a full on burn, they are probably sensitive to a chemical in your soap/disinfectant.

@casportpony @WVduckchick @Pyxis @Miss Lydia @chickens really

Any ideas?
Very strange, I've never seen anything like that before. It would help to know what cleansers are being used and what type of water, as in city tap water or well water.

I'm not sure either, and I know pics are difficult with little ones. Maybe try taking a video and snap a freeze-frame.

Also what bedding are you using? A pic of your whole setup may trigger some thoughts for everyone.

Ok thanks I'll try it. Here's some better pics, hopefully you can see it better.
