Need info about chickens, poop and kids!

Pointing a garden hose at the larger poops and squirting it into the ground on full blast will make it dissipate into the grass — out of sight, out of mind.

I would worry more about the kids "eating" the poop than stepping in it. Keep your eyes pealed for those little rascals trying to scoop up a piece.

The chickens.....well, they go where they need to go without much thought.

Where ever chickens are they will poop.

Get the kids some smooth-souled shoes - poop cleans off much easier.

I would just have them wear Croc type shoes for the yard, easy to wash off. And wash hands when done playing outside. If they want to sit in the grass or something, use an old blanket etc so they arent sitting in the poop. But chicken poop dries rather quickly so its not like your yard will be layered with it.

I was just going to suggest Crocs. My kids are 5 and 9. The chickens poop as they go along. They poop all the time. It's only wet for a while. We all wear Crocs and do a little shuffle in grass the chickens don't get near before we head to the house. Crocs don't have super big ridges on the bottom and we rarely have poop stuck there, but if we do, they are easy to hose down. Poop is a part of chickens. The poop from my dogs is much more disturbing to me!

Well, when my kids were littler I caught them trying to go in the yard

so it can work both ways! lol How do I protect my chickens from my kid's poo? (Fortunately they're bigger now and know better!)
