need more chicks for replacment

:I went out of state 4 Thanksgiving and let a friend take care of my 2 chicks. just today I found out that they didn't make it . It took me a while 2 get over it. Her 6 year old girl had a b-day party and she and her friends were looking at the chicks and jiggled the light so it went out and it was too cold 4 them. I want to get some more to replace them but not so small. how old r chicks when half way feathered?

Hi Larra,

Sorry to hear about your loss. What part of GA are you in? I have some RIR and some WL that are fully feathered - they are almost 3 months old. I think that at about 1 1/2 months they are fully feathered.

Most breeds are fully feathered at 8 weeks.
