Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

Yes...he should be out within 15 hours or so and if he is two days early (are your temps running high?)...there may be a problem...or not. Sometimes there may be some bloody tissue type cord thingy still attached and it may take a little time to heal...you just watch it closely. I had one that actually came out last and not early with the problem and it healed up nicely. (just don't want the other chicks to peck at it) I've only hatched one other batch so am not a pro by any means. It is stressful I know! I'm guessing he will come out within a few hours.

You have a LG ? I have a Brinsea Advance so for me...it may be different.. You would have to check (do a search) on what it needs to be for your type incubator and if the thermometer you are using is ok. If you have read that it is...then you should not have to worry about the temp being too high. It will probably be fine....just stressful the first time. Keep us posted. I'm sure others will jump in when they get on BYC this morning.

Hurry up chickies - give me a sign! Rock that egg... something! Well it is day 19 for me. Lockdown started last night.

Do any of you have chicken dreams/nightmares? LOL! Last night I dreamed that my silkies hatched but they looked nothing like a silkie. They had no humps on their head and they were striped. I was so dissapointed but they did have 5 toes. LOL! Then the other night I dreamed I dropped an egg and then another night I dreamed I went to the feedstore and found chicks with horns like a rhino!

My, my, my - too much easter candy before bedtime? Worrying over my eggs is affecting my sleep so these babies need to hatch!

I can see Moo-Shu's beak!! He's on his way! He has about a dime sized hole in his shell!

Yeah ducks take longer, and you have to watch and see if they're stuck after the 24 hour mark after a pip. If you see nothing but a big gaping hole and a beak sticking out of it after 24 hours, might be stuck. You'll know for sure after another 12-24 hours with no progress.

So far I've had to finishing the zipping for the ducklings and they pushed themselves the rest of the way out.

Last night I got my first Easter drop-off ducklings, this woman didn't know how fast they grow and how messy they are and brought them here. Free ducks with delivery! I have a home lined up for the Pekins already, but I seem to be the new owner of a Chocolate Runner and a blue something-er-other.

The last two Saxony duck eggs are chirping at me! They should be out and dry in the next 3 days. I wish they didn't take so long!
