Need some help fast please

I am very sorry to hear about your two geese RuRu, I don't think you could have said it better, I also think that animals have feelings and can be greatly affected by there surroundings, and stress can be a deadly thing.

Faith SL. thanks for your kind words greatly appreciated

SummerChick&RURU. we are having to Waite till tomorrow afternoon as he was still too frozen to do anything. so I will let you know what we find as soon as I can.

Thanks everyone

Did you find anything in the autopsy?

we did not find anything wrong with his heart, kidneys or lungs. we looked at his trakea and there were no punctures in it we also looked at his gizzard and found no holes in it either but we did cut it out and I am going to cut it open and see if there is any metal etc in there that could have poisoned him. We did find some thing weird that we are sure about on his gizzard there is a crease kinda like when a armadillo rools up the have a crease on the sides like it rooled it's self up we are not sure if that is normal or not but if you all want I can take some pictures of it to show you what I am talking about? we also found a quarter sized fleshy part above his gizzard toward the spine, we are not sure what that is so I am also going to cut it open and look, does any one know what it could be? would it be ok for me to post some pictures of it? we are both still confused on what could have killed him, anyone have any idea?

Thanks

I think as long a you post what your showing so folks can decide if they want to look it would be okay. I doubt I would be able to help but there maybe others who can give you some ideas.

Thanks Lydia

Ok here we go, The following pictures are very graphic and may be disturbint to some people please look away if you dont like the sight of some blood.

here is his gizzard, note the crease in the center, I do believe i have figure out why it is there.
I believe by what I saw when I cut the gizzard open it is composed of two chamberes one where the food is ground up and the other where the ground up food is turned into a paste.

First chamber where food first enters and get ground up by little rocks, the yellow brown you see was a very tough surface, and I believe it is that way because that part og the gizzard where rocks are being grinded together and that hard linning is to protect the more fleshy tissue

The inside of the second "compartment" of the gizzard where the food is turned into a paste

The mystery part, its not a kidney, liver, lung or hart it was lockated above the gizzard and is firm fealing.

Here it is cut open, it was very very easy to cut open

THe three biggest rock i found in his gizzard, are they to big to be in there, could that have caused a blockage in his gizzard?

Thanks everyone for your help

I hope someone can help you out with your questions, At least you could get some answers to why this happened.

I have never seen the insides of a goose before so not sure what to look for. If you find nothing wrong inside with the goose then the only thing I can think of again is just total stress and the goose died of strress. Stress makes them go off feed and then they become too weak to get in and fight for their ration of feed. Or they just are not hungry.

Ok well thanks everyone, I guess you are right RURU scence we did not find anything wrong inside it could have been his outside enviroment
