Need suggestions for a care package for a soldier!

wegotchickens - what about seeing if you could set up a donation on BYC? A $1 donation from the regulars on here may add up enough to pay for a used/refurbished laptop... I do think that's kinda crazy that he asked for that though. There's not many people that can afford to do something like that.

I adopted a soldier because I could manage letters and care packages. So that's what I will send. If he's not into it he can share with his buddies.
Each adopted soldier is actually adopted by several people, so maybe someone else on his adoption list can take care of the laptop issue.

I do hope he gets it, though....

I got my soldier. I used the list provided and sent him 2 boxes packed full. He asked for hygenie, snacks and movies.
I got a mix of Crystal light single packs.
toilet paper
chocolate bars
Snickers
Milky Way
beef sausage
beef jerkey
pre mixed Koolaid
magazines
the entire list of hygenie items.

I hope it doesn't break, but I wrapped it real well was a quart jar of my canned peaches.

Have you seen where you can bake cake in a canning jar and seal? If you want the "how to" PM me. Works great when you want to send them a birthday cake, stays nice, moist and fresh.

We got our solder today (the boys want to make cards and drawings to send too). I think I'll start with a movie night, send a few comedies, popcorn, movie candies, and a bunch of drink mix tubes.

This is amazing, I can't believe how much the adopt a soldier movement on byc has grown! I'm so happy!
I've yet to get my soldier though, I have to request a new one because I never got a response from my first guy. My sister sent a letter out to her soldier so we'll see if she gets a response!
