Personally, I love my Welsh Harlequins. I wouldn't say any breed is truly better than others, it's just personal preference. The runners, before you buy make sure you get better pictures of them, if you are buying them unseen. If you want to show, the runners really need a good body type or it won't be worth your time. Get an APA standard book, that is REALLY important if you want to show! I've shown in 4-H for many years, and am now getting into open shows so feel free to message me with any questions.
P.S.-I know this has been said, but predator proofing is so important! Just one raccoon can wipe out your whole flock, and you'd have to restart. Good luck!
I adore Cayugas as a breed, but for showing them, I'm not sure. I know they can be a pain since they lose their green sheen from too much UV exposure, so show breeders often keep them indoors 24/7. Maybe not the most practical bird.
