Need to learn in a hurry

Hi all,
Although I am a lifelong birdfreak, I have zero experience with chickens.
Did tangle with an adult turkey once.
My background is in bird rehabilitation [passerines] with a wildlife rehab organization.
That`s in the past.
When I moved to another state 12 years ago I discovered there is no wildlife rehab here and particularly no interest in birds.
I am on my own........

Tried an online avian vet group which claims to answer bird question relating to illness/injury, just to find out they charge $30.- for answering email questions.

Did some reading in the problem section [where I`ll be going first] and found some not only knowledgeable but also compassionate people - just what I am looking for.

! Happy you joined our flock! BYC is research central...and it's free!!! Chicken keeping is really a pretty simply undertaking. The proper food, fresh water, and safe lodgings and you've won well over half the battle.
