Turn the water sprinkler on the moth balls so it dissolves them, if let in a dry area mothballs can last up to a year. WHy your at it flood there yard out.

It is very difficult to catch them on camera....by the time I get the camera ready, the profanity stops, the rocks stop, the fog horn stops. I do have at least 30 minutes of amplified music recorded throughout the day. I do have photos of the rocks where they landed, another neighbor has been over and witnessed the amplified music, dog barking tape, profanity, etc. Filing charges for harassment seem pointless because they will retaliate even more. The officer today knows them sort of personally, through another person, and it seems they have a reputation for erratic behavior. He thinks this stems from their wealth. I will reconsider harassment charges, but so far, police just find it laughable or it is as easy as getting rid of the rooster. Done that. Hostility continues. I am more concerned at this point with the safety of myself and my chickens.

This has been going on for 2 and a half months at this point. More than enough time to install an inexpensive security camera set up. If you want to do something about these people then do something. There has been plenty of advice given. If you want to do petty crap like some people are suggesting, go ahead. Go tit for tat with people who live for this thing and see where it gets you. Or you can get this taken care of by going to the police and dealing with this as a harassment situation. Your choice.

yeah- put up a game camera and make it very conspicuous so that they know they're being monitored. Consider erecting a tall wooden fence, too- something they can't see through or over.

What really has me upset now is that they have placed mothballs on the property line....their side of the fence. Not just a few, but at least several boxes concentrated in a 4 foot area near where my chicken run.  I do not use mothballs because they are a poisonous, pesticide containing napththalene or paradichlorobenzene which is very toxic.  When I am in there with them with this heat and humidity, it is awful.  I am going to try and create a barrier on my side of the privacy fence to see if this will help.  The officer said there was nothing I could do about the mothballs since they were on his side, but he could clearly see that they did this out of spite.  They are not near their garage, pool house or home.  The dog barking cd shut off as soon as the officer drove onto my property.  I didn't care about him speaking with them anyway, I just wanted it to be documented which I hope this accomplished.  I am tired of being bullied.

Any suggestions on how I can handle these mothballs?  I am thinking of at least retrieving a few tonight to cut down on the smell.  Interesting....what will they do next?  They could easily drop them into my yard as well.

If they placed the mothballs on the ground or where wild animals can reach them contact the Federal EPA and state Fish and Game and Natural Resources. Contaminating soil, water table, possibly other natural resouces. Massive, Huge, Enormous fines. Doesn't matter if it's private property.

She has contacted the police and thus far they haven't been much help.

And in defense of Kallan, it's hard to know what to do when you're a nice person and you're up against people like this. The natural response is to try and be nice, and do what you can to smooth things over. Unfortunately some people see that as a weakness and just use niceness as a cue to ratchet up their abusive behavior. It takes a while to shift your thinking and realize that the only choices are just give the other person everything they want (not what I'd suggest in this or most other cases), or get a lawyer, and/or other help to get them to stop.
