Neighbor threatening me and another neighbor about chickens

I agree, shoot the dog if it gets on your property and hurts any of your chickens. Your lousy neighbors' dogs have no right on your property.

Sorry, gotta agree too. If it's just running around like a crazy dog with it's tongue out....that's one thing. Intentionally coming in your yard to kill your beloved pets...sorry. If the owners don't want to keep their dog safe, you have to protect yours.

I am getting my chickens July 1 (was supposed to be here already, but that's another story). I did order 1 rooster on purpose because I love to hear a rooster crow. Although I have 8 acres, my coop is pretty close to one of my neighbors and as my luck would have it their bedroom. I talked to them already and they said it's my property, I can do what I want. I did tell them if it becomes a problem I would get rid of the rooster. I don't like being threatened by anyone especially when I am with-in my legal rights. My first reaction would be to go out and buy as many roosters as I could afford. But I know that would only make matters worse. As long as your chickens stay on your property, I wouldn't worry about it and if she does send her dog to kill any, call the police on her. I hope things work out for you.

Give her farm fresh eggs. Kindness kills faster than meanness.

Why? So she can sue the OP for giving her food poisoning?!?!?

Besides, I don't believe in rewarding bad behavior. NO EGGS for big meanies!

My coop is 11 feet from my bedroom window and my Roo begins to crow at dawn. I have yet to be woken up by him!

That's good to hear. I really want one. One of my other neighbors had a cockatiel and I loved it.

This is absolutely how I feel. My husband and I have always been good neighbors. I always take care of these neighbors animals when they go out of town for the weekend several times a year. I've never expected anything in return. Geeze.

I won't give them eggs, they think brown and green eggs are gross.

I know a guy who moved into the country, on two acres. He planted a garden--collards, okra, tomatoes, corn, cucumbers. The neighbor called the city and complained, she said the garden looked "trashy" and would reflect negatively on all the neighboring houses.

What is the deal with some people. I have 2.5 acres, outside the city limits, and only one neighbor. Who also has chickens. That's pretty much the reason we bought the property.
