This is one of the funniest discussions I've read on this forum, so far. I was belly-laughing. Don't mean to be insensitive. Would make a great sit-com.

Good point. In many places, it is illegal to let livestock "run at large," although some of the laws only cover big mammals and skip chickens. ("at large" is commonly the term used, which makes it a useful search term when trying to find such laws.)Are there any laws in your county or state about containing livestock?
I read about motion activated sprinklers, but the boyfriend says he’ll get sprayed every time he walks to his truck too. I’m still thinking about it.Turn your hose on the chickens that come in your yard. Report the coyote to department of natural resources. It would be easier to train the chickens to stay off your property than to train two old boys to contain their chickens. Maybe it doesn't seem nice but you've tried nice and its gotten you nowhere.
Guaranteed my husband would shoot a chicken for scratching up the clear coat. Our neighbors chickens go house to house pooping in people's yards, eating flowers and getting on cars. One guy shot a couple for scratching up his car and their rooster got hit by a truck. Predators have killed dozens of them, I'm surprised they have any left. I'm the only one in the neighborhood who hasn't fallen out with them but its because I have a big fenced yard . My advice is build a fence so their chickens will stay on the other side .Maybe then you can enjoy your own and your flowers.Good luck!
