What happens to the neighbor's dog (5 lbs) when he tries to attack chickens and you have 2 100 lb. dogs guarding them? No chickens harmed, 1 mad neighbor (had been warned what would happen) and 2 dogs looking for treats. Only thing I told the neighbor was, I would replace the dog when he fences his property better. This is not the first little dog he has lost. Most are to wild life in the area.

The fence contractor strated installing a fence around the neighbor's property this morning. When the neighbor got home from work, he came over to tell me he had no hard feeling about the dog. And ne is going to get his daughter a new puppy on her birthday, 6-1.

I would not replace anything if my dogs were doing their jobs on their own property! My pit killed a neighbors great pyrenees that had been eating 30 or so pounds of food every night by turning over a 50 lb trash can that it was stored in. I called my neighbor and informed him the dog was dead in my yard and he needed to remove it. End of story! My dog was doing her job on my property! His dog was at large and quite the pest! Glad it is gone! I have a feeling your neighbor will never learn nor ever be a responsible pet owner. Glad you got such good dogs, and your chickens are safe!

Two reasons to replace the dog, 1. he will upgrade his fence so his animals can't get out, 2. his little girl played with the dog all the time. I feel she should not suffer the lost because of what her Father's mistakes are. I might just get the dog and keep it at my house until the fence is repaired. Under normal conditins I would not think twice about replacin a wayward animals, it comes on my property chasing my animals or family members, it DOES NOT LEAVEand IS NEVER SEEN AGAIN.

The little girl may have played with the dog, but she is also learning that it's ok to let that dog run loose. So, no replacement is the best answer because she will do the same when she is an adult. Your dogs were doing their jobs, his was trespassing.

My pits have killed several cats that belonged to neihbors. I simply burried them and said nothing. I actually am quite happy when they get one. I am so tired of digging in my garden and getting cat crap all over my hands. I figure if someone elses animal comes on my property it's open season. I HATE cats!!!

Why are You going to "reward" him ANOTHER dog?
If his little girl played with the dog, HE should be responsible enough to keep the dog around.
Are you getting the NEXT dog for free, or is he PAYING you for the next dog? Who will be paying for the next dog - you?
SILLY way of looking at things your way, sorry, I'm being brunt about it.
