Neighbors unhygienic animals won't stay out of my yard and I'm worried it's making my chickens s

I think animal control should be a last resort, but here I think it is warranted. People need to keep their animals on their property, period. Dogs, cats, chickens, whatever. And the fact that the conditions are so terrible over there, God knows what diseases those animals could give to yours.

I agree about the last resort to animal control but dead animals lying around and the unsanitary conditions suggest she's gotten there. The woman sounds mental and possibly needs the help she might get if you call. Since you've confronted her reality she is going to be hostile to you. I a so sorry you are stuck next to her and have to take this on. But her place is a public health hazard and is a danger to your animal's health and maybe yours too. :hugs

I agree with @Chickassan . Take pictures and document everything you're seeing. Whether you need to use them or not, who knows, but good to have just in case. I would start with animal control and go from there. The problem with some people is retaliation, so I would just keep to yourself and deal with it as you can. I wish you much luck. Such a bummer to have crappy neighbors.

I agree that animal control should be called. In my case, I live in town in a rural community. I have 3-5 hens at any given year. No rooster because I have close neighbors. We have a flock of feral chickens in our neighborhood. It is really cute to see the traffic come to a stop on the main road while the chickens cross. It is not so cute when the roosters keep flying over my fence. I really don't want the neighbors to think the feral roosters are mine- boy are they loud. I kept chasing them out for a couple of days, then caught them and clipped their flight feathers on one wing. Now, they at least stay out of my fenced yard. I still hear them crowing all over the neighborhood though. Animal control is aware of them, yet they have not tried to contain this flock. They seem well fed and healthy, so they must go home to roost every night - I just haven't found out where. I have it narrowed down to a two block area. They are pretty though. One problem I can't solve is cats in the yard. What can I do? I put out live traps and they ignore them.
