Hello, I need to know if I can mix Amprolium (CORID) and Neomycin together in the same water dish? It really defeats the purpose of forcing them to take the Amprolium for Coccidiosis if I give them 2 separate waterers with different drugs in them.

I can't ask my vet this question, they charge me for asking a simple question - EVEN IF it is in regards to the medication THEY SOLD ME! Yes I am finding a new poultry vet ASAP....

The answer is yes. Corid is simply a B vitamin blocker, not an antibiotic.

There's always a chance that the coccidia can erode and inflame the intestines, causing a bacterial infection, so treating with an antibiotic such as neomycin is a good idea.

Oh that is SUPER! "it says ADD to water :)

SIDE NOTE!
I am in Canada - and I am curious to know can I buy CORID for cows and use it on my chickens? It's on Amazon here > https://amzn.to/2BmMtfv . . . I am sick of buying a pour off from my vet for $30 for a 2 week dose (getting ripped off) - so trying to find an alternative source to purchase.

I am looking for a website perhaps that sells chicken vet products - but don't need to buy from a vet....I don't want to have to keep going to the vet for things that I know I need.

A lot of the meds we buy to treat our chickens are labeled for other animals, or even humans. No big deal, they work fine. Liquid Corid is mixed at 2 tablespoons per gallon of water for poultry. Mix fresh each day. (Sorry about giving you USA measurements as I'm lazy at present.)

Here is where I get all my chicken meds. https://www.revivalanimal.com/product/corid-9-6-oral-solution?sku=31120-275 They have good prices, ship very fast. They have all the antibiotics you might need also, but labeled for fish. Again, no big deal, they work fine.

Thank you, I will buy the stuff for cows on AMAZON.ca... :) I have also emailed your supplier to ask if they can ship to Canada.

SIDE NOTE: I have already given these birds a 2 week run of Amprol. One week later after I thought was all OK - it seemed to come back and one chick was particularly listless (she is still alive and now very active) - The VET told me to mix it as a 2.5ml to 2.5L of water. My vet gave the WRONG dosage instructions to me - the correct dosage was supposed to be 5ml to 2L of water (or 2.5ml to 1L of water) *I even have the bottle that has their directions on it, they did not live up to their mistake* I was simply following their instructions and trusting they knew what they were doing. I am going to assume that is WHY the cocci came back.

My birds are now 10 weeks and 7 weeks old.
I feel very concerned that some of these birds may never get "over" this coccidiosis? :( Obviously its in my yard, on the ground and all over the place!
The people we bought this house from, there are stories of them TOSSING SICK CHICKENS over the fence - the neighbours complained it was bringing in vicious predators (bob cat, cougars, wolves, etc...) I AM GOING TO TAKE A WILD GUESS THEIR "SICK CHICKENS" HAD COCCIDIOSIS!

Had I had known (I am a first time chicken owner) - I would have take different measures and perhaps never got chickens.

I have cleaned every day, their bedding is dry - containers constantly cleaned, food and water always fresh. I just have NO IDEA what to do about the Coccidiosis in the yard :( - is there even anything I can do about it in the yard? ....UGH SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Can the chickens live with this parasite if they survive? Am I going to have to keep giving them Amprol consistently for the rest of their lives?? If so that is going to cost me ALOT of money.

I am doing all I can and probably even more than I need to (over doing it) - I just want the best for my birds. So upsetting.
