Nesting box and pads, fyi and reuse

Did you cover them with something after putting them in? Mine did not like these at all. They would scratch and scratch until they were torn up. I have had good luck with cardboard.
I used a light layer of hay, they like moving the hay around. A couple of our newer boxes have cardboard in them and honestly the ones with a thicker layer of hay are the ones sought after most.
 
I think it’s great that they were sewn, they won’t move out of place or make wrinkles- if I was any good with a sewing machine or had your ideas I’m sure I would have done the same. I love that you’re recycling all you can. The signs of someone looking forward 👍
I don't sew mine, the OP did. Far easier to just fold to fit your nest box exactly (width wise in my case, there's a little left over lengthwise but that's fine) and shove them in - the very slight tension created as they try to unfold keeps them wedged at the bottom of the nests.
