So glad this thread is up and running again. I have been on it briefly before. I am so glad there are many chicken people like me. I often get called out on my chicken interest subtly as if it's something I cannot make into a career, just a hobby thing, and that I "should find more hobbies rather than just chickens"...That really hurt me.

Especially coming from a family member
while I was facetiming them and showing them my incubator set-up.
People who aren't chicken people just don't understand. That's why BYC if my refuge. I am so thankful for this site and wish more people knew about it.
I am diagnosed Autistic. I hate that word though. IMO you shouldn't be defined by one word.
There is so much hate nowadays with autistic folks as I have noticed myself...making fun of us on social media, and friends making nasty comments about folks with ASD. I really hope that after I come out on here, that I do not get made fun of or defined as my diagnosis but rather, who I am as a person.
I hope one day once I gain more and more knowledge, other neurodivergent folks can look up to me and be like, "wow, she did it, she really made a career out of what she loved after people told her she couldn't."

At least that is my dream goal. Thanks for reading
