Nevadans?

Aw Sunny theyre so cute!! I love the colors. :] If it doesnt work out with your bed, I bet I can get my mom to haul it. She gets like 13 MPG though in that ****** truck. We need a little rice burner or somthing. ^^ Lemme know.
Thanks everyone for the gardening advise. I saw online that someone suggested replanting the seedling in a deeper pot so that the stem only sticks up two inches or so. Would that work? I've only got one plant that shot up, but I still want to save it. I guess I'll try it, hope for the best, and let you all know how it goes, yea?
I cant wait for my chicks to hatch now!! Im all anxious.
Where's Aubrey?

Thanks Lacey! It couldn't be worse than that old truck of ours that just died. It cost us $60 every time we drove to Reno and back! And gas was only $3.50 then.

Hope that new black chick from the bluer egg is a girl. Wouldn't her coming from a blue egg, coupled with a male blue gene give a really nice blue egg in the next generation?

The little chipmunk (bobcat looking) chick has me curious. I'm going to look at my EE's and see if I can remember who's mom was a Wheaten color because I think that's what that one is.

I've had wheaten Ams and they were much lighter than this girl. I need a pic of her too now.

those chicks area adorable, sunny and pam! It'll be fun to see how that chocolate one turns out. People are paying big bucks for chocolate orpingtons so I'm sure chocolate colors of any breed would be a hit.

Hi Everyone! Nice to see more new people on here.

I had a huge scare yesterday. My sister in-law came over with her terrier. It was going great until the moment we put Harmony in a chair to take her picture. The dog jumped into the chair before I could do anything. It was so fast. Well, he did superficial damage on her bill. She won't be show quality but she still has her bill, just the top was damage and it will grow back. The vet said her bill will always have a scar on it. He put the medical adhesive on her bill and we came back home. I was really surprised when my SIL asked how much the bill was and I told her but that was it, she didn't offer pay for it. Oh well, I have Harmony. We put her in her own place over night to give her a break from the family and she is now back with them. Mo thought she had something on her bill last night and he kept wanting to pick it, now he thinks it's just part of her and is leaving her alone.

I still have pics to put up here, I know it sucks right now that I haven't put any up here. I couldn't get into the room until just right now tonight while the grand kids take their baths. I promise I will get them on here soon.

How horrible what happened to Harmony! I'm glad she'll be okay even if scarred. You definitely owe us some photos! But I understand how it is with company.

Sunny, you're right, the wheatens are more yellow chicks. I think that chick is a silver after looking at some pictures.

On the Polish, yes the solid yellow will be white and the other a splash like my avatar. She's would be the mom of those two. I'm surprised you got a solid white with all these dark chicks. I think a couple of those dark chicks may be silver laced. Looking back on baby pictures of my chickens, they were all blackish when they were born, no signs of the silver lacing.

Sheryl, sorry to hear about your poor baby! Were you planning on showing? I can't believe the dog owner didn't pay your vet bill.

Sheryl, I'm so glad Harmony is ok, even if she won't be SQ! Frustrating that your SIL didn't offer to pay! I've always believed, that if my animals do damage to someone else's animals or property, unless their animals came into my yard, then I'm responsible for it. "He's just doing what's natural" isn't an acceptable excuse when you're the one in control of your animal.

Lacey, that works with some plants. Tomatoes, especially, because what used to be stem will turn into root. In fact, that's one of my main saving tactics for leggy seedlings. That's why gardeners hill up potatoes, too... to give them more root to produce potatoes. But it doesn't work with all plants... if you do it with citrus, the trunk rots and kills the plant. Make sure you look it up for that specific plant.

pigtail will you have any SQ bantum brahama babies for sale this summer

so is better to get you chicks the same year or different years?

Sorry, I sold all my bantam Buff Brahmas
barnie.gif
I only have Standard Buff Brahmas and they are not SQ. The only thing bantam that I have for sale right now is Showgirls and Silkies, still waiting for my Seramas and Black Cochins to start laying.

Okay here are some today pictures, Julie.

I had to dig this photo out but this was Peggy (rip). She was sent to me with the batch of chicks that petey came with. I think the babies will turn out to be her color, a greyish partridge.

Here are the blacks, i do not think they will be blue as you had hoped, but thats okay because i like black better anyways :D

and the marans. Hes much wimpier than the showgirls, He cowers behind them whenever my big fat hand reaches into the brooder. Still trying to think up the perfect tough name for him. Mark and I are bouncing some things around.

WOW Aubrey they look awesome!!! I so love seeing pics of my hatched kids. HAHA
and man that black one on the right still has a really awesome CREST.... I can't wait to see it all grown out!!

How did I miss this post earlier? Sheryl I'm so sorry that Harmony got hurt! How scary!!! I'm glad she'll be ok...

You sure you want me to sell some of these? It sure would be interesting to see how they feather out. Dang it!!! I'm attached already! I know there are a few I definitely would not want to sell for sure! Ack! I don't know which ones I would be willing to let go of!

OK when I first talked about hatching and selling chicks why didn't someone warn me this would happen?

Wait, did I say you need to sell them? I know I'm taking lots of pain meds, but you do whatever you want with them, they're a gift. You helped me by letting me see what I have in this next generation....but if you do chose to sell, I want first dibs! ;D

Hahaha! No problem! But if I decide to sell any I'll let you have whatever you want from them first. They're your girl's babies! Originally we had talked about doing a test hatch and I could sell some of them and we would split whatever we made from them. I think that was way before Steve talked me into getting the WCB Polish though. After that, of course, I fell in love with the sweethearts!

Any word from your nephews on making a little extra money this weekend?

Well, they're OUR babies! Did I miss an update on the number or we still at 15? I just checked my message I sent to the kids and no response yet. I don't have their phone numbers and my sister (their mom) is at our cousins wedding in TX but I'll try to text her and see if I can get their phone #.
