Hope you feel better soon, Kim and feel more like yourself.

OH MAN! I don't have the patience to do it all again on this terrible computer of mine!!!

Short cut paper... pmed you Pam... yes 15 babies, no more pips (so far but just into 23rd day so leaving them in for now)...

Got tiny truck to move bed in...

Loaded 16 bales in a 4x4 truck bed (those guys at One Stop Ranch and Feed are masters at stacking bales)...
Scored shower doors at Habitat for Humanity store

(love that store and Thanks to Missy for the shower doors idea)... still need soil and plastic for coldframe...

Got the bed and a few other things from my Dad's house (yes he is doing much better for those of you that asked)...

Marans laying, so in a month or two folks on the list for culls will get their birds... OEs still a ways away from laying so Missy's will have to wait to make sure it lays an olive egg...

Sheryl super cutie pies!!! And, no I can't think of anything vital you missed in the 200 posts, besides we will probably mention them again...

KIM! Yes we miss you! But we also want you to heal so we understand you taking the time to do so...
Aaaaaaaannnd "Hi" to everyone else!!!

sorry about losing your post. I've had that happen about 3 times but it's been my cat's fault. He's always on my lap between the computer and me and sometimes stretches out and hits something with his paws.

we went to the river school farm today for the kids' preschool field trip. I enjoyed seeing their cold frames and hoop houses, etc.

Well some of you asked about a Swap....

NNPFA SWAP AND SALE!!! April 14th 8 am -2 pm... At Feed World 315 Spokane St Reno....

This is a fundraiser for NNPFA(Northern Nevada Poultry Fanciers Assoc) so we will be able to host our Nov 17 show(we need to raise money for building rental fair bldg is pricey!). So anyone can bring healthy birds to sell but we ask that a donation be made to the club for setting up, space use and advertising...usually $10(or more)....

there will be horse tack, chicks and ducklings, and hopefully more...

Would be great to see everyone from the BYC too!

should be fun. I hope to get over to this one. I wasn't able to make it to the last one.

Where is that at? I would love to see how they set up their cold frames etc...

Good morning, everyone! I have a morning client, then I'm hoping to get a lot of stuff done, if the wind cooperates. My poor seedlings... I need to build my greenhouse to keep them out of the wind, but lately it's been too windy to build a greenhouse! So they go out front, barricaded by the lids to their little peat pot boxes, in an area that gets part shade. Today I also have to wire the chickens out of the garden... they're going to be ticked, especially since the dirt is nice and turned, and they've been in worm/dust bath heaven. Putting the trim on the chicken coop, putting more stain on the fence, planting the peas and spinach, rototilling garden #2... it's on the list, but I guess the weather will decide what happens.

I'll have my super duper manpower back in a week, but I want to really impress him with all the stuff I've gotten done! He's one of those really awesome type of men who likes a super dynamic awesome booty-kicking woman.

Does anyone have big plans for today?

sounds like you have a very full agenda! Your husband will be very impressed, I'm sure. Here's to a productive day!

I also have big plans for the day. I have way more on my list than I can really manage but oh well. I'm also hoping it doesn't get too windy. It makes it very hard to be outside getting things done.

I need to do some garden bed prep and compost turning. My new compost bins are working good. I should buy a few more trash bins to make more. I'm already out of compost space. I also need to build some more raised beds but that probably won't happen today.

Coopwise, I'm going to work on dividing a section of the coop for the chicks. I want to make panels with some wood frames and chicken wire that I can remove easily later when everyone is all together. I'm still thinking about the best way to do it so it might take me some time to figure it out. It's a tinkering project but I need to get on it. The brooder is getting crowded already!

I also want to put my vent covers up with hinges so that I can protect the little ones from the wind on that side of the coop and work on my window frame on that side. I have a sturdy picture frame i got at a thrift store to rig up a window on hinges. Also, a tinkering project.

I'm full up now, since I got all the chicks I wanted, but hopefully you can find homes. Those are all beautiful birds!

Very sorry to hear about your folks and your chickens too. I know what you're going through.

Well, we ended up with only the 2 ducks. Harmony is healing away, though her lower bill is growing faster which I figured would happen. I'm watching her carefully. Everyone is being very nice to her. My SIL gave my MIL some money and said she was very sorry for her little tiny dog going after Harmony. It was so fast there was not way anyone could have stopped him. John was holding her on the couch and my SIL told him he better move or Teddy will jump up and get her. He moved so fast and there wasn't another incident.

My kids left this morning to go home. It was the best visit we've had in a very long time.

I'm setting eggs again but I'm also trying to figure out how to correct the humidity for this next batch. I couldn't get the humidity where it needed to be even though I had 2 sponges, all the wells filled to the brim and a bowl of water full. The ducks needed the humidity much higher then it would go. The only thing I could think the problem is was the fan.

Chickee I'm so sorry about your mom and MIL. Got to be hard when it's both of them. I know it's a lot of work. I hope things get better for you.

I posted on your AM ad. I can take 2 of the AMs if I can get them here somehow.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that.
