I grew up in Fallon NV! lol I saw only 1 other person in the list from there.

I dont tell many people this but I grew up in Fallon too. Was dragged there kicking and sceaming at age 12 from CA and I moved away quickly at age 18, everybody knows everybodies business (or they spread rumors) you know small-town-i-tis. Anyway welcome!

Sunny the regulations would have nothing to do with you since youre in a rural area. Basically right now as it is anyone in our urban zone cant do any kind of selling at all, and we would like to be able to do it just like you country folk with the same restrictions. The reason they want to present this to city councel WITH restrictions in place is so that their proposition will be more realistic. Having rules is better than not being able to do anything at all. But like i said, you guys wouldnt be touched.

Well I just got back from my first visit to the new CAL Ranch Store in Carson City and all I can say is - WOW! It's huge, basically it is just like the Big R Store in Fallon, except I don't have to drive 50+ miles there and back. They have everything you can imagine and most you can't. Really good quality stuff too, and the prices are very reasonable. Of course they had chickens

- but one thing I hadn't seen elsewhere, they have Cornish Rocks (meat birds) for $1.29 ea.

I'll be going back tomorrow to pick up some - just need to figure out how many!

I think there was more than one but I don't want to go back a page or two and lose my post.

Aubrey and Mark came to get my noisy welsummer hen. She was giving a demonstration when they arrived and they still took her.

It's nice and quiet here now. I love it!

well, those ducklings are just precious. I guess Russ gave in to the cuddling! I may get sucked into the duck club at some point but i'm trying to stick to just chickens for now. we'll see. I don't think it would be too hard of a sell for my husband. He's already said, let's get ducks, a few times.

I can relate, sheryl. We really should have bought a place with more land! Hindsight, I guess. Never thought we'd be raising chickens. Ron, you have a great set up. You're lucky to have lots of space.

But it's good to know it's there if we need something we can't get here. I've been interested in raising some meaties at some point so that's good to know they have them at least right now. I wonder how long they will keep those in stock?

and boy is she AWFULLY quiet right now! LOL! poor thing, I always feel bad for chickens when you first get them and they are adjusting to their prison time. She will be a happy camper in a few weeks and it will be like shes always been here bawking along the day with the other noisy girls.

You would have had to drive 50 miles each way to get to Big R! Just make sure you have a nice big list when you do go. BTW it's worth a family outing trip just to see what all is there - trust me, you won't be disappointed.

But it's good to know it's there if we need something we can't get here. I've been interested in raising some meaties at some point so that's good to know they have them at least right now. I wonder how long they will keep those in stock?

I don't know but I have a feeling I'll be a regular there so I can keep you posted.
