Nevadans?

Getting close to my my dinner break what does everyone suggest?I'm trying to gain so protein is big. I was thinking fried chicken earlier then I remembered the nothing fried. Maybe a side of baked beans but what else?

Protein = meats, cheeses, pinto beans, brown rice, quinoa, tofu and other soy products, eggs, nuts, legumes. Be sure to balance protein with fiber (beans, grains, any fruits/vegetables) to keep your digestive system running right. Also, be sure to keep enough glucose/fructose in your diet to keep you from craving the bad stuff. That's in fruits and root vegetables, beans/legumes, and grains.

Quote: That is a great price!!! Oh man if we weren't spending so much on this move I would be grabbing the keys and dragging Steve down there right now!

And I meant to mention earlier that I talked to the folks at the spine clinic and they don't like to work on folks that have a bunch of hardware left over from past surgeries. I am gonna go to Pam's Doc in the city.
now a mattress ad is appearing at the top of my BYC! Big brother is watching!

Haha!!! They targeted the wrong person! I'm the one that wants a new bed!
We don't have the human furnace because we have the thermal puppy (Tibbs the greyhound) who likes to crawl up into bed between us and lay along the backside.... Great and welcomed in the winter or when sore, but impossibly warm in the summer. And in the summer he's into bed-hogging and turns into a mass of pointy feet.... Luckily he sides with husby, so I don't get the prodding so often. I'm just glad the St. Bernard cross isn't interested in sneaking onto the bed or we'd need a custom-wide matress for sure.

I'm pretty sure there's a matress conspiracy about.... What's with this ad about getting a new matress every 8 years? (Ten pounds of skin cells a year and zillions of dustmites???) Did anybody even think that before the ad came out? Does anybody weigh their matress yearly? Heck, I'm pretty sure Mom has a mattress older than my sister...which would mean it weighs half a ton by now if the ad is right. My matress (still holding up...it was an extra firm and just now getting a tad comfy) is 25 years old and still looks great. But 25 years ago I paid through the nose for it ($1500)....prorated it's worth every penny. Sis has one of those space-age memory foam matresses. She sleeps great on it, but it kind of puts a damper on frisky biz. I slept on it one night and found it difficult to turn over on. Oh, well.... Different strokes for different folks.

I'm fairly convinced the body's warranty is up at 35 and it's nothing but maintenance from there on out....
OMG! hahahahahaha!!! You crack me up Dee! Yea I heard the same thing about the frisky stuff but I also heard you get used to just doing things differently and I have friends that say they love it now! Just took a bit of getting used to. Yahoo had an article on this and some folks said they hated it so much they took it back for just that reason.

I agree anything over 35 is a bonus! lol And I would hang on to that bed! 25 years and it's still comfy? I wouldn't trade that in. I've disliked my bed for many many years now but couldn't bring myself to spend money for a new one. It has nothing to do with the age or "weight" of it haha. Folks do realize that advertisers are out to sell their product and that it has nothing to do with sharing information don't they?

What's everyone else having for dinner? I'm making palak paneer, an Indian dish using spinach and homemade cheese. Over white rice (I'm out of brown... bleh) with a side of homemade plum chutney. Tomorrow is going to be yogurt dill potato salad, with a side of wild lettuce and balsamic. I LOVE garden season!

We just had broccoli for dinner with a little muenster. Steve had some leftovers from yesterday to go with his veggies but I wasn't very hungry tonight.

well its band practice night which means we will probably be going to PHO like we always do after band practice. Then I will order the veggie soup with no noodles but they will undoubtedly put all of the noodles in my soup so i will only get to eat half of it...or all of it...it IS my splurge day!

Hi everyone! Welcome Viktoria. I'm happy to meet you.

That was good Tyler. You should start eating spinach.

Yeah Sunny, please don't forget me either. How can telling us how you really feel be complaining? You hurt and it's alright talking about it. It makes me feel like I would get some relief by talking about it if it was me? My FIL's back was crooked but it also spiraled around as well. He was 6'1" at 21 years old and when he passed away I was taller than him. He found out later in his life he had polio as a child. No one knew. His best friend had polio and died from it. No one in the family thought he got it. He did get sick but was told it was pneumonia. Not once would he complain or talk about it. He went to a back specialist and the specialist said, I can't se how you do it. Let me go in there and fix it just a bit. Boy did he blow up and said - you will not be touching my back. Well 2 years later he finally let him do it. My FIL was so much better getting some of the pressure off his spine. My FIL finally spoke out on how hard it was all those years with no relief in sight until now.

Oh and I have a new member in my flock. Yesterday little Bridgette joined us. She's 6 weeks old and is the most beautiful little French girl I've ever seen. I see some of Amanda's ways in her. She's going to be very dainty. She's with the last 2 ducks that hatched 3 weeks ago. Bridgette would only step out of the new area like 6" from the box. She finally ventured out at 9am this morning. It was sooooo cute. Every time she went back in the ducks would go inside with her and lay down for a bit and then call her out. They're doing great and are very happy. Thank you Sunny for this little one.
