The event and walk sounds like it was a resounding success! Congrats to Steve - did he make the evening news?
He left on the walk before Channel 2 was ready for him but one of the folks from the Alzheimer's assoc. covered for him. I think it worked out better that way because we don't know near as much as they do about their services.

IDK why Steve got in such a rush to hit the walking portion. I guess he got caught up in the excitement. I was in my wheelchair by then and he was trying to use my chair to get to the very front of the line. I was scared someone was gonna end up in my lap for a while there!!!

They may still have gotten a clip of him from during his speech but I don't think they were set up yet. They started it late because the news crews weren't there yet but after a bit they decided to start without them. I was too nervous during the speech to pay attention (I had to be up on stage with him, they wanted folks to see that the speaker had the support of loved ones). But I did see channel 2 interviewing the person that was MCing after the speech was over and folks were lining up to walk.

I sold 2 welsummers this afternoon. I decided to offer another one to the guy and he was happy to get two. Now I just have one welsummer left, Woody. I will miss the eggs.
Sorry I haven't been on! The canning is letting up a little, but I feel a little guilty that I still haven't had time to get those gardening links up, so I've been avoiding the thread a little bit. It's nice to see an end in sight, though. Even if it's still hours and hours and hours and hours of canning... Two more friends have offered us fruit from their trees, and we refused both.
You deserve a break after all that canning! Hope you can rest soon.
I can't believe I can see an end in sight for all the projects we had around here! I kept saying we were hoping to get it all done before winter but I didn't believe it would really happen!
glad the walk went well and you enjoyed your time with family. good luck on your remaining projects!

Thanks Elizabeth. Glad to hear you got takers for the girls.

OK I caught up with the 98 posts I was behind. Now I forget what I read, but at least I can remember 2 things.

Sunny I'm glad things went good on the walk that that Steve was so excited by the whole thing. So proud of him and you!

Depressed that so many Wellies slipped through my fingers. I just can't seem to get pullets when I hatch and I would really love to add a couple more.

OK........I'm so done.

Oh thank you!!! I have a friend coming over today to learn how to make peach habanero jam, and that will use up most of the ones I have empty here. You rock!!!

Thanks Kim! Such a bummer that you didn't see the Wellie girls up for sale. :( Hopefully you'll get in on the next great offer. :)

I was thinking the same thing as Ron. That is one big pullet egg for a Banty. Awesome!
