Today I got to tell my daughter, "If you use a piece of camouflage duct tape to fix a hole in your stretch pants, you might be a redneck. You can't go to school like that. Go change."

Oh, I forgot to mention, the cup waterers are trigger activated. The chickens have to hit the lever inside the cup to break the seal for a moment to get water to flow into the cup. They figured this out by themselves immediately though. I thought we might have to show them how to use them but they ran right over and in a few seconds had it down pat.
This is very cool. Might need to rig one up for the summer.

looking forward to the cookie exchange. i just ordered a krumkake iron so I will have a go at making those. they are a delicate norwegian cookie. look like kind of like little waffle cones but much tastier. Not sure what else I will make yet.

I am happy with my show performance my wheaton ameruacana won Champion jr. ASOB

Separate her ASAP. Someone plucked them out and once they saw blood kept plucking. Clean her up really well then let the blood coagulate and form a scab. I you can, go to the feed store and get some blu-kote to apply to the bloody part. I'd let it heal a little bit before putting her back but definitely make sure it's got some kote on it before putting her back. The blue color will help keep them from pecking at it more... She will be alright :)

Hi Fellow Nevadans,

I just joined the site and love it. I'm in Fernley, NV (29 miles from Reno). I'd love to connect with anyone near me and talk chicken. I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving.
