Nevadans?

Do you have any earplugs? I have to use them nightly because my husband snores terribly loud... it keeps me from being bothered by those "lone chicks" crying for company too! Drives me nuts as well... they're lucky to make it til others hatch out!
I'm to cheap to buy new ones and Bill hadn't found mine before he died. Just one more thing he's gonna hear about when the time comes. LOL I actually almost bought some last week and forgot. My neighbors are so loud and with the brain problems Dakotah and I have and the constant migraines, I don't know why I haven't before now.

I'm surprised this chick hatched. I still have one more where the humidity had run to high to often for staggered hatches, These eggs were all iffy at lockdown,

Well, I hope more hatch so he'll have company. Next time you're at the store... splurge and buy yourself some earplugs. You can still hear plenty but they block out the more aggravating noises!

I'm going to go succumb to my pillow. It's been calling me for a while now and I have to go in there to get my earplugs so I may as well go to sleep, right? It's almost 1:am so I'm a goner! Done for!

Goodnight and good luck with that chick.

Missy - Sahara looks very beautiful. She's growing up very fast too! She's so smart, bright and a wonderful person to be around. I love cooking with her.

Aubrey - Sorry I missed your birthday, I didn't mean to and to also miss your Indian lunch too.

FlamingChicken - How can that little one see out of her eyes? She's fluffy too.

Sunny - Let us know how your back is doing with this new treatment.

Pam - I was thinking of a new Brinsea incubator with the water attachment. Please let know how it does right away. I have hens starting to go broody and I need to hatch ducks out again this year once I get rid of a drake or 2.

Kim - Good luck with your hatch. That's a lot of eggs. I hope the little one gets a new friend soon.

Hi Flower - I haven't seen you on here before. Nice to see you're back.

Sunny dawn! I enjoyed looking over your list of members. Thank you kindly. It's encouraging to know your neighbors.

Now for my panic attack vent:

1) I decided to purchase welsummer hatching eggs from Gary farms ALL the way in Georgia. Everyone else had a stinking wait and we'll I don't much have patience ...

2) found my bator dusty on the shelf with little holes in the back

3) speedily ordered a new bator on rush delivery cause the eggs will be here in two days

4) was told by my husband that the stinking storm is coming in early . ( snow snow snow)

So, lets all pray that the eggs don't freeze, the bator is not delayed, the post holds my eggs and they don't put them in that ugly blue open air bouncy jeep. Look I have enough new gray hairs this year!

Thank you all for your ear.

The good news is that Gary Farms packs super well and when I bought EE eggs from them (Georgia to California) I got a 100% hatch and that was even when the post office put them on the truck (I asked them to be held for pick up) and they drove around on bumpy, back roads all morning and were left in our carport when I wasn't home

Good luck with getting your incubator and eggs

I understand! This weather has delayed 2 shipments I've been waiting on. Oh we'll, can't control Mother Nature. :( My own girls who were laying well 2 weeks ago are laying very few right now. :/ I hope your eggs don't freeze and that you have a great hatch! *fingers crossed smiley here*

I'm up listening to a loan chick peeping at the other eggs. He's driving me crazy, so I decided I'm just make random posts all over the forums. This chick was pipped last night or early this morning when I was going to set the 83 rggs I decided not to save for the Easter hatch. Yeah right! Took him till just a while ago to come out and play and now I'm up to 124 eggs sitting all over the lace, waiting to go in. We're getting lots of wind and rain the next 3 days, so they'll all probaby stop laying now, but if not.......I'm goona have a whole lotta eggs to try and hatch for Easter.

Where's the fingers in the ears smilie. I'm exhausted, I hurt and he won't let me sleep. He'll go to the door and peep until I go over and tap on the door. geeeezzzz

Sunny I'm glad you are checking out this new DR. I so hate needles, but I also know when the pain starts, ya gotta deal with what can possibly make a difference. I hope it works for you. I hate that my friend hurts too.

I almost close my eyes sitting here and there he goes again. Please let his friends hatch and quick.........

Thanks Kim! I appreciate it very much. *hugs*
I agree with the earplugs. I buy the wax ones because I can cut them in half to fit my ears. Good luck with the hatch!!!

Sunny - Let us know how your back is doing with this new treatment.

Thanks Sheryl. Last night wasn't so good. Even with the meds I couldn't get to sleep until after 5am. I thought the pain would ease up once I laid down but that didn't happen. It was a very rough night last night. :( Hopefully it's temporary and will ease up soon. Sorry to whine. I got 1 and a half hours of sleep last night so I'm not feeling real chipper.

Oops! I had 8 posts quoted and now I can't remember what the missing ones were! It took me 5 tries to finally get this far cause I kept getting kicked off line. I'll try again later when the signals stronger. Sorry to anyone I missed! Getting too frustrated to keep trying right now.

Sunny, what's wrong with your back?? I hope it feel better, whatever it is. I had shots, having them in your spine was probably extra horrible.

Hi Candie, nice to see you back on the Nevadan page. The chickens are doing very nicely.
Thanks Sheryl

How is that big, beautiful, sweet rooster of yours doing? Thinking about hatching eggs from him this year? I just hatched some eggs from his brother and have a few more eggs from him in the incubator. Love the wide heads and short beaks on them. Color is looking good too. I am excited to have some splash rooster chicks in this batch. One will be for me and the other is promised to a friend.

Here are some pictures of the two splash candidates. They are both super friendly. Love that about the Wyandottes!
