Just popping in for a sec. Sunny the app I had on my old phone didn't rescue my contacts. Would you mind sending me a text and all you have to do is put your name on it, so I can add you back in?

Has anyone dealt with a prolapsed vent? Sweet isn't acting weird at all, but her bottom does NOT look good! I'm wondering if we can fix it, or if we need to help her along before she starts to suffer at all.

If it is prolapsed, you'll need to separate her. You know how chickens can be!

Some people have used Preparation H to reduce swelling. Others have used sugar. You'll have to keep pushing it back in and hopefully after a few days it will stay in. You'll really have to watch the next time she lays an egg that it doesn't come out again. If it does, you may have to cull her; if you don't the other birds will.

This would be the only time that I would ever wish stress on one of my birds as it will stop her from laying for a while.

Good luck!

You said her bottom doesn't look good. In what way? Is she hanging out or are her feathers underneath all clumped together? She doesn't smell bad does she?

It's red and really swollen, and definitely hanging out. Feathers are clumped with runny white poop, and have been for a few days. I noticed the white poopy bottom before the vent actually turned inside out, and was watching her to see how she did. I didn't notice smell when I picked her up yesterday.
