Nevadans?

So yesterday I got 2 coops that I will use as breeder coops and 2 heat lamps with blubs, 2 feeders, and a waterer for $40. I almost felt bad it was such a good deal! Needed so room for my fizzeled silkie project(not sizzles).

I love prices like that. That's amazing.

sorry about that Ron.

I was in Nevada today. My kids have been in Boise for a week. My inlaws met me in Winnemuca today so I left at 4am drove 5 1/2 hours to turn around and drive back. I went and swaped some penedesenca eggs in Stagecoach outside of Dayton on the way back
Thanks Hangtown! Too bad I didn't know - you could have stopped by for a visit. I'm about a mile south of Hwy 50 right as you enter Dayton from Stagecoach if you are heading west.
Love the pics. I'm sorry about the business. I sure hope something turns around soon.
Thanks Kim!

Ron -
Thanks for posting the coop photos....good ideas into practice there. (DH is thinking about concertina wire...I think not and like your esthetics.) So sorry to hear about the business. I hope things pick up soon for you. But, remember, even when doors close windows open.... Keep an optimistic view. Things always work out....maybe not the way you expected, but they do work out.

The storm was hellacious. We were very fortunate in our NM property selection. One house we had put a bid in before (and then turned down when the counter was just ridiculous) ended up with 2 feet of sediment in the front yard. Indeed, a lot of folks had lakefront property.... At the Corrales ladies gathering (every Weds morning at the Bistro Brewery for coffee and breakfast burritos) there were lots of cell phone photos of water lapping the thresholds. Driving down the roads of Corrales was more like going down a cattle chute as the bulldozers had created miles of 4+ foot high mounds by clearing the roads. I'm not sure if FEMA was called in or not as I had to get back to LV, but several businesses had collapsed roofs. I hope not to see another extreme weather event like that, although at some point in my life I would like to see a twister (from afar) and the Northern Lights.

Anyway, headed back to NM tomorrow for a mow-and-go and then off to Tulsa for face time with the grandkids.....who knows? maybe a tornado!

I finally got an inquiry on my australorp last night. Haven't heard back since I replied. Seriously, it was easily getting rid of my roosters on CL than her.

Nice deal on the coops,Seth.

I hope business picks up, Ron. I do know the feeling of an unstable employment future though, having a soft-funded job. Thankfully, things are going okay for me right now but I hope things improve for you.

I hope you don't have any tornadoes or other storms!

Thanks Dee and Elizabeth! I try to keep an optimistic attitude about such things. As one of my friends always says "I was looking for a job when I found this one!"

Hi, guys!
Today was the end of my chickens' free-ranging days, sadly

. Today, my dad finished the dreaded fence, confining them from the three terraces they once had to just one. I understand his reasoning, they were destroying the yard, but I just don't know how to explain it to my hens!

They have plenty of room, as I have three hens and 1 whole third of our pretty big backyard, but I just can't help being a little sad for them. They need greens! Anyway, I just dropped in to rant a bit, I've been watching this forum every day as part of my morning activities, and I'm always looking for an opportunity to post, whether helpful or not

P.S. Chiquita is very cute! I love her crystal dishes.. I'm assuming they're plastic? Or are they real crystal?
